SOUNDS IMPORTED: WORLD MUSIC

SOUNDS IMPORTED! is a weekly world music radio show that I do on the University of Miami's student-run radio station WVUM 90.5 FM and wvum.org. I'll be using this blog to post any music that I play on that show in addition to any cool world music I find out there in the wild web. I'll also be using this blog to post any rare or out of print vinyls, tapes or CD's that I come across to expose people to music they couldn't have found otherwise. Any feedback is much appreciated! Ridiculous Cuíca solo!

Check out this guy playing cuíca (Brazilian drum with a stick connected to the head and rubbed with a moistened cloth to produce that "woo-woo-wee" sound)

This guy also looks pretty serious!

this started to pull me into a weird naked lunch state of mind.. and instead of bug powder i started putting snow flakes into my blood, thanks for the pleasant chill
